Salzburg, Austria

Day 4

Of it was to Salzburg via Linz from Cesky Krumlov. A lot of great views, I am absolutely fascinated by mountains especially snow peaked ones. An ideal vacation for me would be to sit in the mountains, breathing in fresh air while enjoying the view and Austria's countryside offered exactly that. Here's a photo taken from inside the train, so excuse the quality:

We headed to the old town as the evening was getting late and decided to have a birds eye view of the sun setting over the town so we climbed many steps through shady narrow alleys to get to a lookout point by a monastery. Mountains surround the city, completely stunning.

It is quickly obvious how proud Salzburg is of Mozart. And they love this Mozart chocolate, which quite frankly isn't all that great (Milka on the other hand, yummmms).

Day 5
What better way to start a day than having a sachertorte in the Sacher Hotel (where it was created). I had this cake last year in Vienna, at the original Sacher Hotel, and adored it! This surprised me since I don't like chocolate cake but the apricot burst is great. Salzburg had a Sacher Hotel branch and the cafe was very fancy; Afif and I were under-dressed.

Crossing the bridge to Salzburg's old town there were padlocks on the side which couples place and throw the key away (symbolizing eternal love somehow).

Old town is full of these cute shop signs!

Have you ever seen such an elaborate McDonald's sign?

Mozart's home is nearly as bright as my sweater.
Cute restaurant. We went to a grocery store for some snacks and sandwich ingredients for our journey to Hallstatt.
